運用面のケースも議論になり、一般的な文書管理をファイルサーバーではなくてSharePointで行う利点は何か、ファイルサーバーとSharePointとの文書管理の使い分けはどう運用しているか、などが話題になった。「通常の一般文書はファイルサーバーで管理し、人に見せるに値するものだけをSharePointにあげる」といった運用から、「完成した文書はファイルサーバーで、未完成でバージョン管理しなければならないものはSharePointで」といった運用まで多様だった。また一年たったら情報はすべて捨てるといった割り切った運用で成功している事例も報告された。社内アンケートに威力を発揮している、という報告もあった。
